Wild falls

Nature-themed slots can take us on a virtual tour of the world and with Wild Falls from Play N Go, our destination is America’s deep south. Set against a picturesque backdrop with the sound of fiddles and twanging banjos as your accompaniment, this game has been a popular option for the slot playing community since its release in January 2019.

Its clever design sees the reels tumble with the natural movement of the waterfall and while Wild Falls is packed with entertainment, we’re really here to find out what it takes to win.

Enter the falls

The base game in Wild Falls is a fairly simple one and the player’s task is to line up matching symbols along one of 20 pay-lines which are contained in a 5×3 reel grid. The higher value images relate to the great American Gold Rush era so we have a panning dish, a bag of gold, a lantern and some tools. Appropriately, the gold is the most valuable of those icons and five on a pay-line will trigger a cash prize of 2500x the coin stake.

The lower paying symbols are letters and numbers from a deck of playing cards but with the Ace returning 600x coins for five in a line, there is some decent reward here.

Wild Falls carries a respectable Return to Player (RTP) percentage of 94.5%, so it can be a regular payer in this base game but for the big cash wins, it’s all about triggering the bonus features.

Falling features

The one remaining symbol that we’ve yet to mention is the chest. These images are central to the bonus options in Wild Falls and they act as both the Wild and the Scatter. Chests will float onto the reels and as a simple wild icon, they will look to replace others and complete a winning combination where possible.

Beyond the standard wild, there are three very special bonus features which can be activated by the chest symbols. The first of these is called Rapid Respins and it can occur at random in the base game. When one or two chests float onto the reels, they will lock into place and a free re-spin will follow.

The next bonus is called Gold Rush and this is where those wild chests will turn into multipliers. Once again, this is a random feature in the base game where the chests change into gold colours and they display the image x2, x3 or x5. Those figures define the multiplier if a winning combination is formed.

Spin to win

The final bonus feature in Wild Falls can be the most lucrative and this is when the chests work as scatter symbols. If three chests float into the middle reels (2, 3 and 4), free spins will activate and these will continue until no more chests appear on the playing grid.

The game is packed with bonus options and if you like a complex slot with lots of features, Wild Falls is a title to check out in closer detail.
